Huawei P8 lite (2017) to be known as Nova lite in select markets

Huawei promised last month that it would bring the P8 lite (2017) to some markets by the end of January, but that's unlikely to have happened. The mid-range smartphone was supposed to make its debut in the UK, but carriers and retailers across the country have yet to add it to their portfolios.

Despite the apparent delay of the smartphone, it looks like Huawei has decided that the P8 lite (2017) might confuse customers in some countries. According to Evan Blass, the Chinese company will launch the phone with a different name in select markets, the Nova lite.

Aside from the name, nothing else will be changed, so expect the same Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone with a decent specs configuration. Those interested might also want to know the Huawei P8 lite (2017) or Nova lite will be available for purchase for €239 in Europe.

The under €250 price makes it quite a good deal because it comes with an octa-core Kirin 655 CPU inside, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16 of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).

There's nothing impressive about the mid-range handset when it comes to the camera, as Huawei included a single-lens 12-megapixel rear-facing snapper, along with a secondary 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

Just like any decent mid-range smartphone, the Huawei P8 lite (2017) features a 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution. The non-removable 3,000 mAh battery inside should be enough for at least one day with heavy usage.
